Industry Analyst, Cleantech

Pike Research is seeking industry analysts to author reports on a contractual project basis. The research process includes a series of executive interviews with industry participants, synthesis of secondary research information, and creation of quantitative models and forecasts for the sector being covered.

Candidates should have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Renewable energy (solar, wind, geothermal, ocean, biomass, etc.)
  • Clean transportation/alternate fuel vehicles (hybrid, electric, biofuels, natural gas, hydrogen)
  • Energy storage (advanced battery technologies, fuel cells)
  • Emerging energy technologies (energy harvesting, wireless power, etc.)

Sales Executive, Asia Pacific

Pike Research is seeking an experienced sales executive to develop new business with Asia Pacific technology vendors, utilities, government agencies, industry associations, and the investor community. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly-motivated and talented salesperson to get in on the ground floor of a rapidly-growing new business. The primary focus will be to sell in-depth market research reports, subscription-based advisory services, and custom research and consulting engagements.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new customers and prospects within key sectors of the cleantech industry relevant to Pike Research’s four major practice areas: Smart Energy, Clean Transportation, Clean Industry, and Building Efficiency
  • Work with Pike Research’s industry analysts and management to develop and execute a sales plan for each of the company’s market research products
  • Pursue leads and prospects identified by the research and marketing teams
  • Close transactional sales for near-term revenue while also laying the groundwork for deeper client relationships in the future
  • Provide high-quality customer support to clients
  • Cover the Asia Pacific region as a whole, with a concentration on Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and mainland China

Key competencies:

  • An established sales track record in business-to-business sales, preferably including experience selling market research services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Solid presentation and follow-up skills
  • Proven ability to create proposals and close sales based on thoughtful analysis of customer needs and expectations
  • Full fluency in Korean and English, some knowledge of Japanese and Chinese preferred
  • Technology market research / industry analyst firm sales experience from companies such as Gartner, IDC, Forrester Research, Ovum, etc. is strongly preferred

Compensation is base plus sales commission.

Geographic location is flexible, but preference will be given to candidates in the Seoul area as Pike Research plans to open an Asia Pacific office there in the future.
